ADVOCACY, EDUCATION, AND
RE-ENTRY SERVICES

Change through empowerment, advocacy and education

ADVOCACY

Raising our voices

Advocate leaders who have come home are raising their voices to improve re-entry services for those coming behind them.

We believe that people who have served Life Sentences need Re-entry Services when they return that are provided by community based organizations that understand their needs and the needs of their families.

We believe an effective re-entry program begins in prison.  We are collaborating with other advocacy organizations to ensure that people leave prison with a California ID.  Having an ID opens up doors to legal employment, healthcare, housing, and banking.

EDUCATION

Sharing wisdom

Participants, alumni, and community members come together to share their expertise.

Community Building and Education

Our Road Prison Project hosted two educational panels on Fair Chance Employment, bringing together employers who are committed to hiring people with felony convictions.  In these panels, we explored hiring practices and strategies to support employees after they are hired.  As a prison re-entry program, we are committed to opening doors to jobs for our participants and the greater re-entry community.  Panels included organizational leaders, employees, and workforce professionals.
